The WellTools Flow Release Spear offers the operator the ability to latch and retrieve tools which have no internal fish neck. It also offers the advantage of being able to safely release if required by simply slacking off weight and picking up the flowrate through the tool. The back pressure created hydraulically moves the grapple into the release position.
The WellTools Flow Release Spear has an extended wicker section which spreads the load over an increased area which reduces the likelihood of swelling the fish causing premature release. This is extremely important when a jarring assembly is being used.
The Flow Release Spear is available in torque thru. and non-torque thru.
